The Main Ceremony
Made with WebSketch
Our main ceremony was at the Stanford Faculty Club. Originally, we planned for an outdoor wedding at our backyard in Los Altos Hills. But the weather did not cooperate - it ended up raining cats and dogs during the day. So we pulled a last minute switch to the Faculty Club (Thanks, Amie), where we had planned the banquet reception. Thankfully, no animals were harmed and no guests were lost in the process :)
The Stanford Faculty Club was a very classy and venerable venue to hold our ceremony and reception. It also happened to be very close to J's house, where the morning ceremony was - a bonus of logistics.
The flower girls were surprisingly patient and non-fidgety waiting for the ceremony to start.
Inside, a string trio helped to keep the guests at peace, at bay, and entertained :)
On cue, the procession began with the minister, the groom, the best man, the maid of honor, the groom's mom & dad, the bride's mom walked by her brother...
...followed by the flower girls, who, not surprisingly, nearly stole the show.
The star of the show, of course, was the bride, here walking down the aisle with her proud father.
The officiant of the ceremony was Patti. (She's the tall, shy one in the middle.) Patti is a friend of mine. How cool is it to be married by your friend?!
I knew Patti from when we were both coaches at Landmark Education. I am no longer doing that. She still is. And she's a full time chef, who specializes in raw vegetarian food. She just got one of her creations stocked by Whole Food in Monterey. So she's an amazing woman. Who happens to also be an officiant.
Oh yeah. She grew misty during the ceremony. I had to really focus to not crack up.
Kissing the bride to seal the deal :D
Admittedly, it felt a little funny doing that in front of the folks, let alone an audience, but we got over it quickly.
And just like that, we were husband and wife :)
My parents. I am sure they're quite relieved.
